I now plan on taking several trips, working upto a 50 miler and then once I hit 500 miles on the engine it should be good to go.
Welcome to my Blog!
Welcome to my Blog devoted to the restoration of my 1972 Datsun 240z. I purchased it in 2013 and have been actively working on my driving-restoration, so I can enjoy the car rather than having it in pieces for years. Please enjoy the write-ups below, as well as the how-to's. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any comments or questions. Thanks. - Dave

Success! First Engine Start Up
I was able to start up the 240z with the first crank of the engine following my rebuild. Had a couple minor things to address, although I was able to take it for a quick drive after I performed the break-in activities. The vacuum gauge was pointing straight and normal, proving good results.
I now plan on taking several trips, working upto a 50 miler and then once I hit 500 miles on the engine it should be good to go.
